Compassionate, Social Justice-Focused Trauma Treatment and Gender Care
Hi! I'm Lance.
I'm a fully-licensed clinical social worker in Michigan trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through level two (current concentrations: Trauma and Neuroscience & Addictions and Eating Disorders). I'm currently in training to provide Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (somatic psychotherapy for trauma). I practice from a harm reduction perspective, and see you as the expert on your mental health.
I love supporting clients who may be chronically suicidal, engaging in self-harm, experiencing psychosis, navigating dissociation, struggling with disordered eating or eating disorders, or labeled with "personality disorders." I've also been offering successful assessments for gender-affirming healthcare for trans/nonbinary folks since January, 2017.
My experience extends beyond the professional to the personal. I am a psych survivor with years of experience navigating the mental health system, so I can relate to the challenge of finding a really good therapist, and believe it is my job to earn and keep your trust.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D). I have trained providers at universities across the US and Canada, including the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Cornell, University of Windsor, and Harvard University.
